Systematic Reviews (*3)
*3 (fi 6) (second term, 3-0-0).
The objective of this course is to provide students with the background knowledge and methodological skills to be discriminating and informed users of systematic reviews. Topics include developing a research question, literature searching, reference management, selection of studies, quality assessment, evidence synthesis (some statistical knowledge required), heterogeneity,
and interpretation of the evidence. Students are expected to develop their own question and conduct a systematic review over the course of the term. Prerequisites: SPH 531 or PHS 598 and PHS 693, and permission of the instructor.
