MSc (Global Health) Student
School of Public Health, University of Alberta
As a student of global health, I focused my research project on pregnant women in the slum setting in Bangladesh. In my second year, I got to go overseas and do field work. Being overseas and doing a research project alone in a country was such a confidence booster because I was able to use a lot of the knowledge and skills that I’ve acquired.
Also, I was also able to do a four-month internship with the Public Health Agency of Canada in Whitehorse. It was good opportunity to work outside of academia and to work in the world of government. And, it was nice to use the skills I learned in the real world and also to pass on my knowledge to people who are not in academia. Overall, it’s been a really positive experience.
Are you thinking about pursuing a master of science degree in global health?
