MPH [Health Promotion] distance student
I was inspired to do the master of public health program after I visited my birth country, South Sudan, a few years ago. The School of Public Health was a natural choice for me because I wanted to maintain my full-time job with my (still) current employer, and the School’s distance learning option in health promotion allowed me to continue working while completing my Master’s.
The level of support on my distance learning activities has been exceptional. Support for administrative and academics needs, including access to research materials through the university libraries, course instructors and program advisers, has been very efficient. The eClass technology has been my classroom for all the courses I have taken so far in this program, and it has served me very well.
Although I absolutely enjoy working in the field here in Alberta, my hope is to go to South Sudan in the future as I believe I would contribute much more working there. I know the skills I learned at the School of Public Health have well-prepared me to address the needs of the South Sudanese.
